Review – LA Colors Palette

Recently, I posted a Cherry Culture haul that included a LA Colors palette and Sweetz, a fellow Pumps and Gloss-er, wondered if the LA Colors palette was a worthwhile purchase.

LA Colors Palette are very pigmented, but  there was a lot of fall out, which means that a tacky base is needed.  (I was totally frustrated using this product!)   The LA Colors All-In-One Makeup pencil (can be used as a blush, lipstick, eye shadow and/or primer) would be a great base because of the extreme tackiness.  The problem for me is this product makes me crease and that can be quite problematic. (For some people, the tackiness will pose no problem.)

I have seen people make the palettes work and I applaud them for that, but as for me, I will focus on other discounted brands that have the same pigmentation and little to no fallout that deserve my money, time and attention.

@Kia, yeah I was excited about the possibility of the palettes, especially since I saw a FOTD from a blogger that made me say, “WOW!” It is definitely all for the good.

The rich color tones stay beautiful, even between colors. *btw* By using LA Colors do you need to reapply very seldom? Like after an hour after dancin’ or something that takes allot of energy and sweat?

@ Roanna: I like the Ultra Pearl pigments. They are gorgeous on. I did a FOTD, but I did not like the way my lipstick turned out, so I did not post, but I may post anyway. The only one that does not work for me is Fanta Ultra Pearl, but I am going to make it happen because it is a gorgeous color!!

no i haven’t tried L’Oreal De-Crease… I’m in Trinidad and I’ve tried getting primers here i only have local ones but I should be in Miami next week so then I will try to get UDPP and see what happens…i think the splash i got was Desert Sand, Desert Storm, and Pink Diamonds.. i’m not home right now but i can double check this. I Also bought two of the Nyx Ultra Pearl Metallics… haven’t tried these yet but I’m a little scared its really powdery.

I have never tried the LA Colors singles. Someone else told me they were crap. Do you have any pics of you wearing the Splash pigments? What colors did you purchase?

  • Sweetz August 8, 2008 at 7:51 PM

i bought a few singles and i thought they weren’t that pigmented and they wont stay on long.. maybe an hour or so … even with a primer.. i’m totally not satisfied.. however i did find another product called L A Girl and they are a little well how to put it you need to really pack it on.. but it stays on with a primer its ok.. and i tried a brand splash [you can get this at cherry culture] and they are quite shimmery…
