Every Little Step
Recently, my homegirl, K and I went on our quarterly beauty run. One of the spots we hit was the Bobbi Brown counter in Nordstrom, so I could get matched up to foundation (more on that in a future post). KJ and I had no intention of buying anything from the counter, but you know what it is like..we were wooed by the Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush.
See it all started when we noticed that the Bobbi Brown MUA on duty was flawless, especially her eyeliner. We asked her to share her eyelining techniques. She told us to make short dashes with the tip of the brush turned sideways (see position in photo below.) So K and I took turns practicing with the brush. We definitely were pleased with the outcome.
This is definitely a must-have for the brush collection. The price is $25…definitely worth the price!

Dolla Dolla Bill Y’all
Who remembers the The Wu-Tang Clan’s song, C.R.E.A.M (Cash Rules Everything Around Me)?
In the FOTD, I tried the Cinema Secrets Hollywood Lights (loose e/s) in Dolla Bill. This brand is popular among professional makeup artists who work in the theatre and/or movie/tv production . The Hollywood Lights are similar to MAC pigments and Reflects Glitters (both of which I love!) I prefer foiling the (non-glitter) Hollywood Lights as the color payoff is more intense. The cost is 7.50/USD and be easily found on the web.

Vert, Vert, Vert!!
Green is one of my fave colors of all times. I love all shades of green, except for light (mint) green. Green represents life, freshness, balance and growth. Can we all agree that green is opulent and elegant? I do hope that First Lady Michelle Obama will be wearing to green to one of the inaugural balls.
Gangstarr Girl requested a smoky green eye look.
In this look I used:
- Moss Scape p/p
- Makeup Forever Diamond Lime e/s (no likey this eye shadow, very grainy)
- Barbie Springtime Skipper e/s
- Wild and Crazy You Rock e/s
- Saturnal e/s
- Soba e/s
- MAC liner
- L’Oreal mascara

Christmas EOTD 2008
Being without Internet access can be brutal. I was without the access on Christmas day, which is why I am posting the EOTD today.
MAC products unless stated
- Constructivist p/p
- Artifact p/p
- Cream to Powder Gunmetal
- Reflects Blackened Red
- Femme-Fi e/s
- Milani Blackened Pink e/l
- Nouba Black Eyeliner
- Napoleon Perdis mascara
I am very impressed with the Nouba products that I have. The Nouba eye liners are smooth to apply. I used the Nouba e/l on my waterline and the color was quite rich. Must-have for all Beauty enthusiasts (will no longer use the word “addict”).
So during the summer, I purchased the Reflects Blackened Red on a whim at a Macy’s counter that always has old collections in stock. I planned on using the products during the holiday season. The shimmer in this product is absolutely gorgeous. The photo does not really bring out the awesomeness of the shimmer. Another must have. Get a sample jar and it will go a long way.

Benefit Cosmetics One Day 20% OFF Sale
I recommend the Creaseless Cream Eye Shadow/Liner and Get Bent Angled Brush.
The sale ends 12/17/2008 @ 11:59 PM PST.

Letting My Soul Glo FOTD
Tan pigment sat in my makeup case waiting to be used. The blaring shrill of the Tan Pigment called me out on Friday and I had to answer the call.
I used the color a few months back and I loved it, so I decided to use it again for a neutral church look. *Mind you, I have no problem wearing green or purple e/s to church (unless I am upfront, of course).* I have small eyes and any hint of color is beautiful against my skin. Why Tan p/g goes unused, is beyond me, but I am pulling this one out at least once a month. If you do not have it, you need to run to your local MAC freestanding or online and pick it up NOW! lol

Beauty Bubble – Eyeliners
|
If MAC, Clinique and Lancome are too pricey, you’ll be glad you “settled” for these drugstore gems |
|
TotalBeauty.com members share convincing reviews that yes, you can get a reliable eyeliner for less. See which brand won the most praise. |
|
No. 18: CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear All-Day Eyeliner, $6.99 |
|
TotalBeauty.com average member rating: 8.2* |
|
Why it’s great: “This is my No. 1 favorite eyeliner. It’s not too dark but it’s dark enough to make my eyes look sexy. [Espresso is] a rich brown [that's] good for fair-skinned girls. It stays on all day so you don’t have to worry.” |
|
TotalBeauty.com average member rating: 8.3* |
|
Why it’s great: “First the price: dirt cheap, relatively speaking. I like the super-slim application brush; it gives me more control, and I like the consistency, which also makes application easier. After MUCH practice, I’ve gotten pretty adept at applying this.” |
|
No. 16: Almay Intense I-Color Play Up Liquid Eyeliner, $7.49 |
|
TotalBeauty.com average member rating: 8.5* |
|
Why it’s great: “I’ve tried the amethyst and the topaz. Both are easy and apply a beautifully precise line if you keep a few simple steps in mind: Line in short strokes, and wait a minute or so before blending or applying mascara. [It's] a nice addition to an eye wardrobe!” |
