When Tragedy Strikes

Troubling times causes us to look to God and ask, “Why?”

Why did a man, who was laid off on a Thursday, go back to his former job in Troy, Michigan on the folllowing Monday and shoot three people, killing one?

Why did the Virginia Tech student go on a shooting rampage Monday morning and kill 32 people before killing himself?

When tragedy strikes, we ask God “Why?” and “How could YOU let this happen?” The God we serve is good and only wants the best for us. We put the blame on the wrong person, we take out our frustrations on One who had absolutely nothing to do with murder, crime, poverty, etc.

The Bible says his about Satan (John 10:10):

The thief (Satan) comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

So many people are living outside the will of God and this allows Satan full access to cause such terrible things to happen. Let us keep our focus on God and stand firm against evil.

The Ladies of Pumps and Gloss send our thoughts and prayers to those who have gone on to Glory and to their families and friends: Virgina Tech and the Troy, Michigan Shooting.

May the Lord comfort our broken hearts,

Joyful Radiance
