Let’s Make It Last Forever
Hey Glossies,
A month or so ago, I stumbled on a website called, Ruche. Ruche sells vintage inspired clothing, an inexpensive version of Anthropologie. There are a few curvy (plus size). The site adds new things everyday, so it is worth checking out. I ordered the “let’s make this last forever” dress. I love the turquoise and navy blue combo, the ruffles and the navy blue and white weave band around the waist. Since, I do not, typically, wear sleeveless, I am always looking for sleeved options.
So I created 3 sets using the dress as the focal point. The dress is quite romantic and I did not want to pick accessories that were too trendy.
Look 1
In Look 1, I focused more on the navy in the dress. I selected the linen jacket to be worn open with tri-teardrop brooch on the ribbon of the jacket. The shape of the brooch is similar to the shape of the spots in the shoes. The bag color is a deeper shade of the top of the dress.
Look 2
In Look 2, I focused again on the navy and included the white of the band, which is why I selected the striped jacket. I also liked the shape/silhouette of the jacket and the gathering in the shoulders. I wanted the ruffles to spill over the lapels. I picked the t-strap pumps and pearls because they continue the classic look. I selected the red satchel for that pop of color.
Look 3
In Look 3, I wanted the accessories (except for brooch) to be complementary to the turquoise. The great thing is that the reddish orange color works well with the navy. I used texture by selecting suede options. The brooch would be worn on the lapel of the jacket and the ruffles would be inside the jacket.

Friday Footwear – Diane von Furstenberg ‘Opal’ Wedge Sandal
Hey Glossies,
I hope the weather is heating up in your neck of the woods. In my area, the temps were hot over the weekend and cooled to the balmy mid-50s.
So the Friday footwear is the Diane von Furstenberg ‘Opal’ Wedge Sandal.
A wedge is a must-have for summer’s fashionable feet. I like how the wedges are layered (stacked), definitely adds visual interest. The leather is soft and supple. The heel is 4.5 inches with 1 inch of platform. Wedge has back zip and rubber sole. This wedge comes in 3 colors: Mink (chocolate brown leather), Camel Vacchetta (below) and Natural Burlap (ivory fabric).
Retails for $295.

The Eyelets Have It
Hey Glossies,
I hope your week is going well. It has been raining in my neck of the woods, so I guess that is “YAY” because the rain could have been snow.
I am huge fan of eyelet designs. This fabric design is great to wear in the spring/summer months. Eyelets always remind me of romance, soft sophistication, and gentle elegance.
Here are some of my favorite eyelet options:
Tops/Jackets
Igigi Lila Eyelet Blouse in White is adorable. Even though this top is fun flirty, I like how it is styled for a great work day look.
Charter Club Eyelet Cardigan is a great option to jazz up the cardigan collection. I love, love, love a cardigan and this one can be added to the list. I do wish this cardigan came in more colors, maybe a coral, yellow and even a smoky lavender.
I love jackets that are made for the spring and summer seasons. The Charter Club Eyelet Jacket (Three Quarter Sleeve) is another great addition to the wardrobe. The jacket comes in black with a white lining. This would go great with a sheath dress, pencil skirt and a full knee-length skirt. The gold buttons pop against the black and white.
Skirts
Boden Shimmering Broderie Skirt is so sassy and fun. The eyelet keeps this skirt playful, yet the metallic fabric adds a dignified air. This a great after-5 skirt. I also think that skirt is more versatile than a traditional eyelet. I would not be surprised if the Shimmering Broderie Skirt made an appearance at the winter holiday party.
J. Crew Eyelet pencil skirt is a classic. This skirt offers styling versatility. Each time this skirt is worn, people will think the skirt is new.
Oscar De La Renta Beaded-Circle Skirt is nothing but pure luxury. I love the navy blue and white combo, which is surefire way to make a garment chic and sophisticated. The scalloped hem is magical and only adds to the visual interest.
Dresses
Boden Broderie Dress is understated, yet quite chic. This dress would be great to wear to a summer wedding. Wear with black patent leather or taupe neutral pumps. A pop of color in the shoes could be fun too… maybe a kelly green, yellow, orange, or even royal blue.
Ruche “You Make Me Blush” dress is breathtaking. It is so romantic and fun. Once again, a scalloped hem is showcased. I also adore the coral color.
MARC BY MARC JACOBS ‘Edith’ Eyelet Dress is so pretty. The eyelet/scallop mix tugs at my heartstrings. I just love it!
Are there any spring/summer trends that you look forward to wearing?

Date Night FOTD
Pumps and Glossers,
The first Face of the Day (well actually Night) on this blog…woohoo let’s have a party! (Ok, maybe not!)
Mr. Maven and I decided this week was a great week to resume date night (6-week hiatus). Since we both work from home, we wanted to make sure that we leave the house a few times of week for the purpose is not related to getting the essentials (including cosmetics.)
We did the dinner-movie combo. The Mavens had a grand ole time. We went to see Hancock. I love a good action film (more kick assery-less chatter)!! The movie had a little bit of both. If there is a Hancock 2, I want to see less chatter.. LOL I loved the scene where Jason Bateman’s character, “Ray”, showed Hancock some clips of him crime fighting on YouTube. Hancock’s clothes were burned from saving residents from an apartment fire. The buttocks exposed were definitely looking really good! *Bagel Buns (Yum-oh!!)*
